Canary Island date palm tree - Phoenix Canariensis

Canary Island date palm is one of the tallest and most beautiful and majestic trees, it can reach up to 60' high. # 1 in elegance and formal look, gives a touch of the mediterranean style to any landscaping design. It is also appropriatte for Florida due to its hardiness. One of the ornamental characteristics is the scar leaf pattern on the trunk and inmense crown of about 50 to 100 leafs which can reach 10' to 20' long. The trunk can be about 3' wide with aereal roots formed at the base. The folliage color is a dull deep green, the flower is yellow and the fruit of about 3/4" is orange; but even though it is eatable, is not very palatable. Canary Island Date Palms are very strong and resistant to dry conditions and poor soil, with the exception of lack of magnesium, which clould be easily corrected.
Here, at Miami Landscaping Designs we have a huge selection of Canary Island date palm of all sizes.
